Job summary

Petco in Wareham, MA, is seeking a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our Vetco Total Care hospital as a veterinarian with a focus on high-quality patient care. You will lead medical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment plans, working with a collaborative team in a full-service veterinary setting.

You will perform surgeries, dental procedures, and day-hospital planning while communicating clearly with clients and referring hospitals.

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
Active licensure as a veterinarian in the state where the hospital is located.
Current DEA license.
Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals.
Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters and mass removals.
Perform routine and complex dental procedures including exams, radiographs, extractions and other procedures.
Disseminate knowledge to improve care and communication and participate in rounds.
