Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active licensure as a veterinarian in the state where the hospital is located.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
• USDA Category I accreditation (minimum) or completion within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by performing exams, diagnosing and treating diseases, and delivering preventive care.
• Develop comprehensive problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments.
• Document observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and client communications in the medical record clearly.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters and mass removals.
• Perform routine and complex dental procedures including full dental exams and extractions.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalizations and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
