Job summary

Petco is seeking an Associate Veterinarian for our Vetco Total Care hospital in Sarasota, FL. The role requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, active state licensure, and ability to perform anesthesia and routine surgeries, with a focus on high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active veterinary licensure in the state of practice or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license and Controlled Substance license (if applicable).
• USDA Category I accreditation or completed within two months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
• Develop treatment plans and perform anesthesia for surgeries such as spays/neuters, dental procedures, and mass removals.
• Document patient findings and communicate with clients to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds and share knowledge to improve hospital care and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with hospital team to maintain high standards of care and client satisfaction.
