Job summary

Petco Veterinary Hospital in Media, Pennsylvania, seeks a dedicated Veterinarian to deliver high-quality care within Vetco Total Care environments. You will examine, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of cases with access to advanced equipment and a collaborative team.

You will lead patient care, perform surgeries, and educate staff while adhering to veterinary SOPs. Required: DVM, active license, DEA and USDA accreditation; strong communication and compassion.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the practice state.
• Current DEA license to prescribe controlled substances.
• Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in state.
• USDA Category I Accreditation or ability to obtain within two months.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
• Perform routine and complex dental procedures including full dental examination, evaluation of dental radiographs, and extractions.
• Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
• Disseminate knowledge and guide staff to improve care and communication within the hospital.
