Evergreen Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital seeks a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join its 100% avian and exotic animal practice. We welcome experienced exotics as well as motivated generalists looking to specialize, with support for board-certification pursuits.

Two Puget Sound locations—Kirkland and University Place near Tacoma—offer a diverse caseload with daytime emergencies managed by a nearby 24-hour clinic.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Experience with a variety of avian and exotic species preferred.
• Willingness to work in a busy, multi-species practice.
• Excellent communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical care for avian and exotic patients.
• Mentorship and regular rounds with the team and case consultations.
• Collaborate with local hospitals and referral centers.
• Participate in scheduling and client education to support care.

Job description

Seeking Full Time Associate Veterinarian to join a 100% Avian and Exotic Animal Practice. We also can accommodate part time positions for experienced applicants if desired. Our current team has decades of combined experience in small mammals, birds, reptiles, primates, fish and amphibians. This is a great opportunity for either an experienced exotic animal veterinarian or someone who would like to branch out into exotic animal medicine from general small animal practice. Our case load would easily support someone working toward a certification in reptile, exotic mammal or avian medicine and surgery or someone who is already Board Certified.

We have two locations in the Puget Sound area of western Washington State. Our main hospital is in Kirkland, directly across Lake Washington from Seattle and within easy commute of many towns and cities including adjacent Bellevue which is known as a tech hub for the west coast. Our branch practice is south of Seattle in University Place near Tacoma. The position we would like to fill is based at the main hospital.

Washington State has many opportunities for outdoor activities – it doesn’t rain ALL the time! It is known for winter skiing and other sports, hiking, boating and camping. Seattle has a lively music, museum and restaurant scene as do neighboring Bellevue and Tacoma. There are numerous job opportunities for partners or family members who are not veterinarians (numerous opportunities for those who are, too – Washingtonians love their animals!). Major employers include: Costco (you know the “Kirkland” brand?), Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Tesla, Boeing, Alaska Airlines, Meta, Starlink, UPS, Starbucks, T‑Mobile, Nintendo and Nordstrom. University of Washington is just across the lake and has a world-renowned medical center for human medics.
