Job description

A privately owned small animal clinic in Sugar Land, TX is redefining what a veterinary career can look like!

Opened in 2024, this clinic was built around one simple idea: doctors do their best work when they are trusted to practice medicine their way. There is no corporate red tape here and no unnecessary restrictions on how you care for your patients. This is a genuinely friendly, supportive practice where every voice on the team is heard and celebrated, and where the reputation for high-quality, diagnostics-driven medicine and an exceptional client experience speaks for itself.

The facility is equipped to match that ambition, with top-tier anesthesia and a ventilator, dental radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy, a lift table, a Tonopen, and full in-house diagnostics. A visiting boarded surgeon handles complex surgical cases and a visiting ultrasonographer covers abdominal ultrasound and echocardiograms, so you are never left without support, whether or not surgery is part of your own skill set.

The clinic is looking for a strong diagnostician who takes pride in thorough workups, communicates beautifully with clients, and is comfortable managing a caseload independently. A surgical background is welcomed but not required.

What truly sets this opportunity apart is a genuine commitment to building a schedule around you, not the other way around. This is a clinic that says yes to real life. Have your daughter's soccer game you do not want to miss? No problem, you can leave early to be there. Want your weekends free for family time? No problem, weekends off are yours. Need to be there for a sick family member? No problem, the team rallies around you so you can be. Add in a genuine pathway to partnership and buy-in, and this is a rare chance to be rewarded financially and personally, in equal measure.

Key Highlights:
  • Privately owned small animal clinic in Sugar Land, TX, opened in 2024, with no red tape and no unnecessary restrictions on how you practice medicine
  • Genuinely friendly, supportive culture where every team member's voice is heard and celebrated
  • Exceptional equipment, including top-tier anesthesia with ventilator, digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, and laser therapy
  • Visiting boarded surgeon and visiting ultrasonographer providing specialist-level support on complex cases
  • Genuine flexibility on caseload depending on your clinical interests – don't enjoy surgery? No problem, focus on the medicine and diagnostics. Love surgery? Great there is an excellent soft-tissue caseload to get your hands on!
  • A schedule truly built around you, whether that means leaving early for family commitments, protecting your weekends, or being there for a loved one who needs you
  • Higher than average share of senior and diagnostically complex patients from an engaged, invested client base
  • Collaborative, curiosity-driven team that works cases up thoroughly rather than defaulting to referral
  • Genuine pathway to partnership and buy-in for the right long-term candidate
About You:
  • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
  • Hold or be eligible for a Veterinary State License in Texas
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the confidence to work up and manage cases
  • A warm, natural communicator who builds genuine trust with clients
  • Collaborative, curiosity-driven, and growth-minded
  • Looking for a practice that values your voice and respects your life outside the clinic as much as your work in it
  • Competitive base salary with excellent earning potential
  • 20% production with no negative accrual
  • Health insurance support
  • 401K with up to 5% company match
  • A schedule tailored to your circumstances, not a rigid template
  • $2500 CE allowance + 4 additional days PTO to attend
  • PLIT insurance covered
  • Partnership and buy-in pathway for exceptional long-term candidates
