Animal Health and Wellness Hospital is a privately-owned, 3 doctor small-animal practice in a quiet suburb of Winston-Salem. Due to the practice's fast growth, our team is expanding! We are in search of a DVM who practices high-quality medicine in a team-orientated environment. We serve mainly dogs and cats but will see exotic pets if the individual doctor desires- your choice! Our hospital is equipped with digital radiographs, IDEXX Lab suite, companion laser therapy, dental radiographs, Cardiopet EKG and GE Versana ultrasound. Referral centers and emergency hospitals are nearby and we have a board certified surgeon that comes into the practice to perform orthopedics and other intricate surgeries.

Part time salary dependent on days/hours worked. We are in search of a DVM who shares our commitment to patient care and customer service. We welcome new ideas and therapies. Our doctors culture a collaborative environment. We were one of the first hospitals in the area to offer FIP treatment for cats! Interest in surgery is welcome but not necessary. Our current doctors can perform intricate soft tissue surgeries such as perineal urethrostomies which they are willing to teach to new associates. We have a traveling specialist surgeon who regularly visits our practice to perform certain orthopedic surgeries such as TPLOs or complicated fracture repair. Continuing education is highly supported not only for veterinarians but also for our staff.
All appointments are 30 minutes in length. Several appointments per day are blocked out for same-day sick patients. Drop-off patient time is also blocked in the schedule. We schedule a daily 2-hour break for catch up and lunch. The last appointment is scheduled at 5:00pm so that everyone goes home at 6:00pm. We are closed on weekends and major holidays and refer to emergency and urgent care facilities in the area.
