Our client is a privately owned hospital that primarily treats cats and dogs, though they occasionally see other species. The team is open and supportive of veterinarians with interests in less common species, such as avian medicine. They are currently seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team as the third doctor in the practice.
This hospital offers a flexible schedule and is open to both full-time and part-time veterinarians. For full-time doctors, the schedule runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with Saturday shifts on a 1-in-9 rotation. While the core schedule is well-established, the hospital are introducing later services, therefore later shifts will be required in the future, for example 13:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The Associate Veterinarian's day typically includes a mix of surgeries and 30-minute appointments. Clinical responsibilities span general practice services such as surgery, dentistry, dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, nutrition, behavior, allergy management, and diagnostics. This position is available to experienced veterinarians only.
The hospital is equipped with x-ray, in-house blood machines, in-house urinalysis, a wet table, a dedicated surgery room, anaesthesia and oxygen equipment, and paperless medical records. They also partner with a travelling ultrasonographer, eliminating the need for in-house ultrasound. As an independent practice, they offer personalized support and flexible career development paths, actively encouraging doctors to introduce new ideas and areas of interest.
The practice currently has two doctors, with this position expanding the team to three. They are supported by a capable team of support staff, and the environment is collaborative and adaptable, with a strong focus on supporting individual professional goals.
