Job summary

OXEN Technology seeks an energetic Associate Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (Associate vCISO) who blends technology, business strategy, and relationship management to deliver cybersecurity excellence for clients.

You’ll collaborate with experienced vCISOs, conduct risk assessments, develop roadmaps and governance programs, and translate complex findings into actionable business guidance for executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
• Experience in cybersecurity, information technology, account management, or technology consulting.
• Knowledge of governance, risk management, and security policy development.
• Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001.
• Customer success or account-management experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication with technical and nontechnical audiences.

What You'll Do

Make Cybersecurity Meaningful

Work alongside experienced OXEN vCISOs to help businesses understand their cybersecurity risks and implement practical solutions.

• Support cybersecurity risk assessments, security reviews, and strategic planning.
• Assist in developing cybersecurity roadmaps, policies, and risk management programs.
• Help clients navigate cybersecurity governance, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
• Review security findings, identify improvement opportunities, and track corrective actions.
• Support incident response planning, business continuity initiatives, and cybersecurity preparedness.
• Prepare clear, actionable reports that translate technical findings into meaningful business recommendations.

Build Relationships That Matter

• Security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
• Managed Service Providers (MSPs), cybersecurity consulting firms, or technology services organizations.
• Client relationship management, business reviews, and service coordination.
• CRM, ticketing, professional services automation, or account-management systems.

Education & Certifications

A bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business, Risk Management, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

No specific cybersecurity certification is required.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or relevant customer success credentials are a plus.
