Job summary

Availity, a leading healthcare engagement platform, is seeking an Associate UX Designer to join the Design and Experience Team. You will create user-centered, visually compelling experiences that improve usability and support business goals.

You will translate research into thoughtful designs, produce wireframes, flows, and prototypes, and advocate for accessibility. A strong portfolio, at least two years of digital product design, and proficiency with Figma are required; healthcare experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing digital products with strong visual design and UX processes.
  • A strong portfolio showing high-quality visual design and UX thinking, including high-fidelity work.
  • Proficiency with Figma.
  • Strong accessibility (508) knowledge and inclusive design approach.
  • Experience conducting usability studies or user testing and synthesizing results.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate design goals and outcomes with stakeholders to build a shared vision.
  • Collaborate closely with UX, research, product, and engineering teams.
  • Weave experiences across platforms to tell a consistent brand story across touchpoints.
  • Design exciting, innovative experiences and deepen understanding of our products.
  • Communicate an experience vision that delivers near-term value and long-term evolution.

The Associate User Experience (UX) Designer is part of the Availity Design and Experience Team. You will design user-centered, visually compelling experiences that improve the usability and effectiveness of Availity's products while supporting business goals. Partnering with User Research, you will translate insights into thoughtful, high-quality solutions and independently create deliverables ranging from wireframes to polished visual designs, interactive prototypes, user flows, and reusable design system patterns.

To be qualified for this role, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, New Media, Interactive Digital Media or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Over two years of experience designing digital products, with demonstrated strength in visual design and UX processes.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality visual design and UX thinking. We are especially interested in seeing high-fidelity design work, visual exploration, and concept work.
  • Strong familiarity with Figma.
  • Thorough question asking and note taking skills.
  • Adaptability to pivot in a quickly changing environment.
  • User empathy and natural curiosity.
  • Learning agility. You have the ability to quickly grasp new situations, synthesize large amounts of information quickly, and find answers
  • Strong familiarity with accessibility/508 Compliance
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.
  • Experience engaging directly with users to gather insights, validate concepts, and test designs or hypotheses throughout the design process.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision, prioritizing work from multiple sources.
  • Experience with behavioral analytics (such as Google Analytics or Pendo) is a plus.
  • Experience writing, recruiting, and conducting usability studies, analyzing and synthesizing results to present to stakeholders is a plus.
  • Experience within the healthcare technology space is a plus.
