WCF Insurance in Sandy, Oregon is seeking an Associate Underwriter for the Large Commercial Specialty Department. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, quoting new business, issuing policies and endorsements, and supporting renewals.

You will collaborate with Claims, Safety, Audit, Finance, IT, and Sales to drive production results and ensure an excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, insurance, risk management or related field.
• Prior underwriting experience in commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
• Experience supporting or underwriting construction-related accounts.
• Experience with wrap-up insurance programs preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and organizational ability
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks

Position

The Large Commercial Specialty Department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as an Associate Underwriter with the Wrap-up Team. This posting is open to external and internal candidates.

This full-time, exempt position is based at WCF Insurance’s Sandy Headquarters.

Responsibilities

The Associate Underwriter provides excellent customer experience in all interactions and is responsible for building and maintaining result-oriented relationships with all customers to drive production results. This person will frequently and effectively interact and coordinate with WCF employees in other departments including Claims, Safety, Audit, Finance, IT, and Sales & Distribution. Responsibilities include quoting new business, issuing policies, issuing endorsements, handling renewals, working with the audit department, putting together and sending out company reports, servicing accounts, assisting underwriter with requests, and any tasks that may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred.
• Prior underwriting experience, preferably in commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
• Experience supporting or underwriting construction-related accounts.
• Experience with wrap-up insurance programs preferred.

The expected salary range for this position is 58,600.00-73,200.00. This salary range depends on experience, education, and location for this specific position.
