Associate Underwriter

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Underwriter/Broker Senior in servicing and managing accounts.
  2. Underwrite, service, and manage assigned accounts.
  3. Achieve Production and Service goals, if assigned.
  4. Underwrite individual insurance applications for property and casualty, following guidelines for standard or substandard policies.
  5. Evaluate risks by considering property value, location, usage, safety features, and other relevant factors to accept, modify, or decline coverage.
  6. Maintain frequent contact with field teams to gather information supporting underwriting decisions.

Additional Considerations

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.

Work Traits:

  • Assignments are broad, requiring originality and ingenuity.

U.S. Eligibility Requirements
