West Bend is growing its Commercial Lines Underwriting team in Wisconsin, seeking an Associate Underwriter who is relationship-focused, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This developmental role provides training and hands-on experience, supporting submissions, renewals, and policy changes while helping the agency partners achieve profitability and production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluent in system navigation and workflow management tools.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business submissions and routine renewals under supervision.
• Evaluate exposures and determine insurability based on guidelines.
• Process policy change requests with accurate documentation.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external agency partners.
• Support attainment of written premium goals through underwriting decisions.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting best practices and rate plans.
• Document underwriting files with sufficient detail and clarity.
