Job summary

Amwins in Mobile, AL is seeking an Associate Underwriter to join our in-office team. The role focuses on reviewing submissions, rating and preparing quotes, and handling inspections and endorsements to support underwriting goals.

Candidates should have 1+ years in insurance, a P&C license (or plan to obtain within 90 days), and strong Excel/Office skills to assist with invoicing and data entry in multiple systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of prior insurance experience.
• Property & Casualty Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Eagerness to learn and grow as a team.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organization, professionalism and customer-service mentality.
• Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes.
• Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Underwriter.
• Review and handle inspection recommendations and discrepancies.
• Monitor various reports for consistency.
• Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits.
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing.
• Data entry into multiple internet based systems.

This is a full-time, in-office role in our Mobile, AL office.

Each Associate Underwriter provides vital team functions:

• Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
