Job summary

Pennoni Associates is seeking an Associate Traffic Engineer to join our Haddon Heights, NJ office. You will work on highway/bridge projects, lead traffic studies, and contribute to TMPs and TIS while signing pavement markings. Mentorship and client interaction are part of the role.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, 4–8 years of experience, and proficiency in Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA, and MicroStation. PE license or PTOE desirable; NJDOT experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree a plus
• 4–8 years of industry experience in traffic engineering
• PE license required; PTOE desirable
• Experience with NJDOT/Public sector clients a plus
• Proficient in traffic software: Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA

Responsibilities

• Assist with complex traffic engineering tasks on highway and bridge projects
• Lead and develop traffic studies and highway occupancy permits
• Signing and pavement marking design
• Assist with development of MOT schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans
• Assist with development of TMP and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS)
• ADA design and curb ramp design
• NJDOT Access Management, TSM&O and Complete Streets initiatives
• Assist with development of project cost estimates and specifications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technical staff (e.g., CADD)
• Experience with traffic software: Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA
• Experience with NJDOT and similar public sector clients
• Develop client relationships with public and private clients

Pennoni Associates Is Currently Seeking An Associate Traffic Engineer To Work In Our Haddon Heights, NJ Office With Experience Consistent, But Not Limited To

• Assisting with complex traffic engineering tasks with other staff on highway and bridge projects.
• Leading and developing traffic studies and highway occupancy permits.
• Signing and Pavement Marking design
• Assisting with development of Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans
• Assisting with development of Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS)
• ADA Design and Curb Ramp Design
• NJDOT Access Management, TSM&O and Complete Streets Initiatives
• Assisting with the development of project Cost Estimates and Specifications.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to technical staff (e.g., CADD).
• Experience with traffic-related software packages (Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA)
• Experience with NJDOT and similar public sector clients (Counties, Cities, Townships)
• Developing client relationships with Public and Private Clients.

Required Attributes

• Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master’s degree a plus
• Minimum years of work experience: 4-8 years
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Suite; Microstation, Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with InRoads and AutoCAD a plus
• Construction consultation and utility coordination experience a plus
• Licenses: PE, (PTOE desirable)
