Job summary

Muir Wood Teen Treatment in Sonoma, CA is seeking an Associate Therapist for the Teen Residential Program. You will provide individual therapy, family sessions, and group therapy in a structured milieu while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary team to support teens aged 12–17 facing mental health and substance use challenges.

This full-time role offers intensive supervision toward licensure, exposure to crisis work, and a diverse caseload, with training in trauma-informed care

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or MFT.
• Active California associate license (AMFT, ASW, or APCC).
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups (practicum, internship, or post-grad settings accepted).
• Comfortable working with adolescents in mental-health, substance-use, or high-acuity settings.
• Grounding in trauma-informed care and at least one evidence-based modality (DBT, CBT, ACT, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate multiple therapy groups per week using DBT, CBT, ACT, and trauma-focused modalities.
• Provide individual and family therapy sessions.
• Engage in milieu work to build rapport, model interventions, and shape treatment in real time.
• Conduct biopsychosocial and risk assessments to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate in daily and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and provide crisis support as needed.
