Job summary

ForwardCare, a small, fast-moving team delivering intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) for mental health and substance use, seeks an associate-level clinician in Texas. You will run groups, perform intake assessments, and route clients to the right level of care.

This hourly role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities for supervision toward licensure, and direct collaboration with leadership to shape how the clinical program evolves.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
• Active Texas associate license in good standing (LPC-Associate, LMSW, or LMFT-Associate).
• Ability to lead groups and develop facilitation skills quickly.
• Clear, timely clinical documentation habits.
• Sound judgment on risk assessment and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group therapy sessions for IOP and PHP clients
• Conduct intake assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations and level-of-care determinations
• Run pre-intake screening calls with prospective clients and referral sources, assess clinical fit, and route clients to the appropriate clinic and program
• Complete documentation in our EMR within required timeframes
• Participate in treatment team meetings, safety planning, and discharge planning
• Coordinate with psychiatry, utilization review, and case management to keep care moving

About the role

We are hiring an associate-level clinician to join our clinical team in Texas. This role sits at the front door of our programs. You will run groups, conduct intake assessments, and handle pre-intake screening to route prospective clients to the right program and level of care.

This is an hourly role with a flexible schedule built around group blocks and intake availability. It is a strong fit if you are working toward full licensure and want high clinical volume, structured supervision, and experience across the full admissions-to-discharge arc of intermediate levels of care. Hours can grow with our programs for the right person.

What you need

• Comfort leading groups, or strong interest in developing group facilitation skills quickly
• Clear, timely clinical documentation habits
• Sound judgment on risk assessment and escalation

Nice to have

• Experience in IOP, PHP, residential, or inpatient settings
• Substance use treatment experience and familiarity with ASAM criteria
• Experience with crisis assessment or admissions/utilization review workflows
• Bilingual (Spanish)
