Job summary

Simple Solutions Psychotherapy in Rancho Cucamonga, CA is seeking a licensed mental health professional to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within marriage and family systems. You will apply psychotherapeutic and family systems theories to individuals, couples, and families, delivering comprehensive care in a normal office setting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, or marriage and family therapy, OR Master’s degree in social work (required)
  • 1-2 years of experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Children (play therapy)
  • Experience with personality disorders
  • Experience leading group sessions
  • Active and current registration through Board of Behavioral Sciences

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and marital and family counseling.
  • Gathers and analyzes information on family members.
  • Collaborates with the family and/or individual family members to develop plans to positively manage and respond to issues; assists clients with replacing unhealthy or dysfunctional behaviors with healthy choices.
  • Collaborates with clients to develop post-treatment activity plans.
  • Assists clients in developing new or strengthened communication skills and methods.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and progress.
  • Provide education to clients.
  • Identifies and provides appropriate psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and/or the entire family.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling or educational programs.
  • Refs clients to specialists for further treatment as appropriate or help clients get needed services or resources.
  • Lead individual and/or group therapy sessions.
  • Present social services program information to the public.
  • Develops and maintains accurate records regarding case progress, evaluations, and any further treatment recommendations.
  • Drafts and submits necessary paperwork to insurance companies.
  • Write evaluations of parents and children for use by courts deciding divorce and custody cases, testifying in court if necessary.
  • Maintains compliance with ethical codes and standards.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned including but not limited to mental health fairs and school events.

Job Summary:

Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral, within the context of marriage and family systems. Apply psychotherapeutic and family systems theories and techniques in the delivery of services to individuals, couples, and families for the purpose of treating such diagnosed nervous and mental disorders. Working conditions are normal office environment with use of computers, laptops, telephones, copiers, and printers. May sit for up to 8 hours per day.

Accountabilities:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the business goals and objectives of the organization, including Gain the organization’s Group Practice, Treatment Focus and Patient Promise.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the local, state, and federal healthcare guidelines.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the scope of work for respective behavioral science discipline (i.e., marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker).
  • Aim to maximize the development of client potential and the fulfillment of client needs, through a commitment to the organization’s Group Practice, Treatment Focus and Patient Promise.
  • Be an active contributor to the evaluation of the client service workflow to improve processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and analyzes information on family members through a variety of methods that may include observation, interviews, self-report inventories, group discussions, and/or formal assessments.
  • Collaborates with the family and/or individual family members to develop plans to positively manage and respond to issues; assists clients with replacing unhealthy or dysfunctional behaviors with healthy choices.

Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in counseling, or marriage and family therapy, OR Master’s degree in social work (required)

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
