Job summary

KLA Milpitas is seeking an Associate Test Engineer to support testing of new technologies across optics, assemblies, and systems. You will perform setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of circuits and mechanical parts in a clean room, develop test specs, and compile reports.

This role requires hands-on testing, equipment handling, and collaboration across teams in multiple locations. The position demands strong problem-solving, precise measurements, and the ability to work extended hours.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree.
• Or 2 years of experience and an Associate’s degree.
• Hands-on experience in electrical component testing, troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment.
• Experience with systems development and testing, including requirements, test specs and results.
• Experience with oscilloscopes and DVM tools is preferred.
• Proficient with measurement instruments and precision hand tools.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across locations.
• Excellent written and oral English communication and organization skills.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Develop test specifications and procedures from blueprints and diagrams.
• Test and troubleshoot assemblies and final systems; complete rework as needed.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for solutions to problems.
• Provide direction or training to peers on assignments when needed.
• Work with minimal instruction on routine tasks and general instructions on new assignments.
