AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible by standard smartphones. Known as SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network aims to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea, and in flight.

Summary:

The Associate Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing tests to ensure product quality. This includes analyzing product features, test requirements, creating customized quality checks, and writing final test procedures for approval by the sub-system lead engineer. The test engineer also executes test procedures and prepares test reports. Broad engineering knowledge, attention to detail, and innovative thinking are essential for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet with the product design team and sub-system lead engineers to determine testing requirements.
• Write test plans, procedures, and develop test processes to maturity.
• Execute test procedures.
• Train technical staff and provide technical support as needed.
• Develop, evaluate, and implement automation into test processes where possible.
• Ensure all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
• Prepare test reports for management.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on test equipment and methods to engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• U.S. or Permanent Resident status.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in research, development, testing, or laboratory environments.
• Experience with laboratory software such as LabView, Ansys, MATLAB.
• Experience with test automation.
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment: power supplies, multimeters, source meters.
• Familiarity with battery systems and cycling equipment.
• Knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) solar cells, their testing, or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with environmental test chambers and vibe tables.
• Experience in quality control or inspection of complex electronics used in aerospace or defense.
• Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities.
