Job Summary
Assists in conducting electrical test engineering support involving automation, assembly, maintenance, and data collection.
Essential Functions
- Assists in the development of test system hardware, test firmware, and test software, providing all related documentation for systems and production testing or working with a technical writer to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinates projects and implementation plans for new product introduction.
- Works with technicians supporting production lines and those assigned to development projects.
- Assists with documenting training parameters and routines for corporate support personnel.
- Provides technical assistance and recommendations to Test, Manufacturing, Product, and Quality Engineers on production feedback and support issues.
- Audits production test performance and failure tracking.
- Understands and develops product testing capacity models.
- Provides input and recommendations for Design for Testability to Test Engineers.
- Assists with Design‑for‑Test (DFT) reviews.
- Start‑up and debug of new and modified test fixtures.
Other Functions
- Attends meetings as needed to support organization activity.
- Interfaces with customers as required, discussing highly technical issues with customers and outside test suppliers.
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to achieve corporate and departmental objectives outside normal job duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Entry‑level position with limited experience required.
- Ability to operate and have knowledge of using MFG PRO software or similar manufacturing software.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to interpret test output to aid in troubleshooting defects.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, statistics, permutations, and related techniques for analysis of variance, correlation, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop process controls.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be able to read and understand PCA assembly drawings and technical notes.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to management and technical staff.
- Ability to present training to small or large technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, CAD, email, internet, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a testing environment.
- Familiarity with IPC610 guidelines.
- Experience in Contract Manufacturing or EMS industry, especially supporting offshore manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.

The environment is fast‑paced, time‑pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi‑task between projects, move throughout the office building, and communicate effectively. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
