Job Description
The Associate Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of equipment within the assigned area for work tasks in surface or finish portions of lab production.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks of area production machine functions, including interpretation of Rx work tickets, performing production operations, and basic/routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and advise supervisors as necessary.
- Specific tasks include lens washing, tool selection/replacement, equipment setup, cleanup, and preparation of solutions.
- Calibrate equipment daily and weekly as directed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the lab to ensure understanding and proper application of policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety, attendance, and confidentiality policies.
- Assist colleagues to meet deadlines and maintain workload balance.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals, requiring safety training.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic high school level math skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
