Job description

Associate Technical Writer – Engineering Development Group

Engineering Technical Writers at MathWorks develop content that helps users solve engineering challenges. This role is part of the Engineering Development Group (EDG) and includes training on MathWorks processes, tools, and product use cases.

Overview

After receiving training on MathWorks development processes and tools, you will work with the Documentation team to support users, conduct research, translate information into clear content, and guide product improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Build product and technical knowledge by supporting our users and responding to inquiries.
  • Research and represent product use cases.
  • Translate research into content specifications.
  • Demonstrate features, workflows, and applications with goal‑oriented topics and examples.
  • Review and respond to product developments.
  • Lead through initiative, process improvements, and mentorship.
Qualifications
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Strong communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and explain engineering procedures and concepts.
  • Engineering or other STEM degree (Bachelor’s required).
  • Experience with MATLAB is a plus.
  • Experience with C/C++ is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
