Job summary

International Motors in San Antonio is launching a second production shift and seeks an Associate Team Member to help launch, stabilize, and operate the night shift beginning in 2027. The role emphasizes safety, 5S housekeeping, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.

The night shift runs Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with a training period on the day shift (5:30 AM–4:00 PM).

Position Overview

As International Motors continues to grow in San Antonio, we are preparing to expand our production operations with the introduction of a second production shift. The shift is expected to operate Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with production planned to begin in first quarter 2027.

Join a transformational growth initiative and play a key role in launching and scaling night shift operations at our San Antonio manufacturing facility.

The Associate Team Member is responsible for supporting a safe, organized, and continuously improving work environment through compliance with EHS requirements, participation in 5S activities, problem-solving, workplace housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.

This role will support the successful launch, stabilization, and ongoing operation of night shift by partnering across functions, maintaining safe and effective operations, and delivering results aligned with business needs.

Work Schedule and Shift Transition

Anticipated night-shift schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM.

This position will initially begin on the first shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, to complete training and onboarding and establish key plant partnerships before transitioning to the assigned second‑shift schedule upon launch in 2027.

This position supports a manufacturing environment and requires flexibility to meet operational needs, including production recovery days, overtime, and occasional Friday or weekend coverage as needed. Schedules, start times, and transition timing may vary based on business needs.

Shift differential: Eligible employees assigned to the second shift will receive a 10% shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Works within the Production & Logistics (P&L) Way, reads and follows verbal and standard written work instructions (SWI), position standards, and standard operating procedures.


• Strengthens knowledge and ability associated with P&L Way attitudes & behaviors, core values, and excellent attendance.


• Practices safe work behavior, including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adherence to safety guidelines. Identifies and corrects or escalates potentially unsafe situations/conditions.


• Complies with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements; reports hazards, environmental risks, and incidents, uses required PPE; operates equipment safety, and helps maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.


• Demonstrates growing proficiency of a 100% mindset and takes ownership and responsibility of position/station.


• Demonstrates basic knowledge of the department’s core processes and can execute assigned tasks with appropriate guidance, following established procedures and documentation.


• Meets the required competency or certification standards for workstations, areas and processes per the department skills matrix.


• Executes standard work within takt and uses Andon with basic proficiency, exhibiting the courage to speak up, identify deviations, and initiate communication without hesitation. Exhibits the "Right from me" behavior.


• Basic understanding of continuous improvement and problem-solving methods.


• Active participant with 5S standards, good organization of workspace, and housekeeping.


• Active participant in learning safety methods and Normal Situation.


• Performs routine inspections on products, processes, and materials to ensure work output meets product specifications.


• Keeps Team Lead and Supervisor informed of any issues or challenges.


• Other duties as assigned.

General Assembly/Body departments:

• Assembles and installs commercial truck parts and components using hand tools, air tools and/or power tools according to standard work instructions (SWI).


• Performs fitting, bolting, routing, clipping and connecting components or equipment according to product specifications.


• Works with cranes, hoists, and other safety sensitive equipment to load fixtures, install components or move equipment.

Supply Chain/Logistics departments:

• Operates mobile equipment including forklifts, tuggers, and cherry pickers.


• Performs material handling, including loading and unloading trailers.


• Processes materials paperwork and/or system entry and conducts inventory counts.


• Receives, stores and retrieves and delivers parts to point of assembly on time.


• Performs sub‑assembly and kitting for production

Quality departments:

• Performs in process validation (IPV) inspections of commercial trucks throughout production line and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) after final assembly.


• Escalates deviations and documents records in the Manufacturing Execution System.


• Traces status of deviations, completed actions, and validate readiness for delivery to customer.
