Job summary

Resurgence Hall is seeking an Associate Teacher to support scholars with reading, math, and science instruction. The role involves implementing lessons in collaboration with the classroom teacher and maintaining detailed records across campus platforms.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least one year of teaching or related leadership experience, with a strong commitment to under-resourced communities and a passion for professional growth.

  • Engage in weekly professional development and coaching.

Responsibilities
  • Internalize and execute one-to-one, small group, or whole-group instruction in reading/language arts, mathematics, and/or science in collaboration with the classroom teacher to scholars identified with academic needs and at-risk for or failing local, district, and state assessments in alignment with Resurgence Hall Instructional Frameworks;
  • Support interventions for designated scholars;
  • Internalize and execute grade-level lesson plans with fidelity and in alignment with Resurgence Hall Instructional Frameworks;
  • Create a culture of joy and urgency with high expectations for all scholars through the implementation of school-wide culture systems including fidelity to the behavior management cycle, incentives, logical consequences, and logging into DeansList;
  • Continuously develop instructional expertise by deeply engaging in weekly professional development and 1-1 coaching with Instructional coaches;
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and detailed records in all school-wide platforms such as STEPtool, PowerSchool, Illuminate and DeansList
  • Support administration of formative and summative assessments as required;
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and detailed documentation on scholar progress through scholar portfolios, progress reports, assessment files, and report cards;
  • Provide coverage support when required to ensure scholar learning and safety continue uninterrupted;
  • Communicate daily with all families regarding scholar academic and social/emotional progress through school-based applications (apps), phone, and email;
  • Support schoolwide and grade level initiatives such as Parent University Nights, Spread the Love Week, Black History Month, 100th Day of School, Awards Ceremony;
  • Participate in school wide initiatives such as weekend recruitment events, evening parent workshops, and other events with advanced notice outside of regular work week;
  • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Manager or Director of Culture and Instruction and allowed under the Title I grant
Qualifications/Certification.

All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. 1 Year of teaching experience is required and/or related work or leadership experience.

Prior Experience.

Demonstrated commitment to work with under-resourced communities and/or children in a school or similar setting highly preferred. Sense of humility, urgency, and interest in growing. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
