Shield AI in Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Administrator to support, secure, and optimize our enterprise IT operations. You will provide hands-on desktop, server, and systems administration for Windows and Linux in a collaborative environment.

The role focuses on asset lifecycle management, IAM, endpoint security, and mentoring junior staff, with on-call rotation and cross-team collaboration to maintain reliable systems and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration or enterprise desktop support.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity/access management tools.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and endpoint security practices.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management platforms (SNIPE, JSM, JIRA).
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance windows.
  • Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), JAMF, and scripting in PowerShell.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices related to change, incident, and asset management.
  • Previous experience in asset lifecycle planning and procurement strategy.
  • Experience supporting remote and hybrid work environments.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL, Cisco) are a plus.
  • 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or mentoring capacity.
