Job summary

PACCAR Inc in Mount Vernon, WA, is seeking an Associate System Performance Verification Engineer to support testing, verification, and system integration for PACCAR’s engine aftertreatment systems. This role is located at PACCAR Technical Center, Mount Vernon, WA.

The candidate will assist with verification plans, data analysis, and reporting; requires a BS in engineering, knowledge of diesel exhaust aftertreatment, and experience with MATLAB/Python and engine test cells.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or related discipline (MS preferred)
  • Understanding of heavy-duty diesel emissions regulatory requirements including diagnostics
  • Understanding of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
  • Knowledge of engine control system strategies and how they pertain to diesel engine and aftertreatment systems
  • Scripting and data analysis experience using MATLAB or Python or Minitab
  • Experience with engine test cell/vehicle data collection, analysis and test planning is preferred
  • Experience with engine calibration, data collection tools (ATI Vision/Vector Canape, Cummins Calterm/ETAS INCA & Vector CANalyzer) and engine control systems
  • Must be self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication, and presentation skills; must be organized
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel

  • Collaborate with Engine Integration, OBD calibration and Vehicle Integration teams to integrate aftertreatment functions
  • Develop and execute continuous process improvements to enhance product quality, reliability, and durability
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Stay aware of new aftertreatment technologies and testing methods
  • Maintain positive relationships with groups at PACCAR Technical Center and other PACCAR divisions

PACCAR Global Powertrain organization is seeking a motivated Associate System Performance Verification Engineer to support testing, verification, and system integration activities for PACCAR’s advanced engine aftertreatment systems. This position is located at PACCAR Technical Center, Mount Vernon, WA.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with defining and executing verification, and testing activities to support engine aftertreatment development in vehicle and in the test cell environment
  • Support Collaboration with Engine Integration, OBD calibration and Vehicle Integration teams to successfully integrate aftertreatment functions
  • Recommend, develop, and execute continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability, and durability of the PACCAR engine aftertreatment system
  • Help with completing reports and presentations to communicate findings, draw conclusions and give recommendations on the next steps
  • Stay aware of new and upcoming aftertreatment technologies and testing methods
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with other groups at the PACCAR Technical Center and other PACCAR divisions
