Job summary

Thuma is seeking an Associate Store Manager to lead daily operations, inventory, and storefront presentation in our Denver showroom. You will manage a team, uphold premium guest experiences, and drive performance across systems like Netsuite, Shopify, and Gladly.

The role requires strong leadership, detail orientation, and the ability to balance customer care with efficient back‑of‑house operations in a fast‑paced premium retail environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of retail leadership experience in premium environments.

Job description

The Associate Store Manager is a hands‑on retail leader responsible for operational excellence, managing major store functions, leading store personnel, inventory management, and directing day‑to‑day business operations to achieve sales, operational, and premium Guest experience objectives. This role manages and directs all back‑of‑house operations including inventory accuracy, replenishment, shipment processing, operational standards, and organization, while also supervising and directing sales floor leadership and store presentation.

As Manager on Duty in the Store Manager’s absence, this individual has responsibility for leading and managing daily operations, directs the work of store associates, upholds visual and operational standards, and ensures the store consistently reflects the Thuma brand. Ideal candidates are organized, solutions‑oriented leaders who thrive balancing operations, team leadership, and Guest care in a fast‑paced retail environment. The Associate Store Manager customarily and regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion regarding significant store operations and personnel matters.

  • Manage and direct operational functions, including inventory management, replenishment, shipment processing, stock organization, and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead execution of daily operational standards, including opening and closing procedures, store organization, cleanliness, and visual presentation.
  • Independently evaluate operational performance, identify business and operational opportunities, and implement process improvements that enhance store operations, productivity, profitability and the overall Guest experience .
  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager's absence, providing leadership, decision‑making, and support for daily store operations.
  • Direct the work of store associates; coach, develop, evaluate, and mentor team members; and recommend personnel actions.
  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving escalated Guest concerns and operational issues that materially impact store performance and the Guest experience.
  • Serve as the store's operational expert across systems and processes, leveraging platforms such as Shopify, NetSuite, andGladly to support the team and resolve complex issues.
  • Regularly supervise and direct the work of multiple employees.
  • Participate in workforce planning, scheduling, and talent development for the store.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to establish and execute sales, operational, and staffing strategies.
  • 2–4+ years of retail leadership experience in premium retail or showroom environments
  • Strong operational and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience handling inventory management systems and operational workflows
  • Demonstrated expertise across store systems including Netsuite, Shopify, Gladly, and related platforms, serving as the team's operational resource and escalating complex issues when appropriate
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and directing multiple employees and holding team members accountable for performance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding operational and personnel matters.
  • Proven ability to resolve Guest issues with professionalism and care
  • Comfortable leading teams and making decisions independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience serving as keyholder or Manager on Duty
  • Experience in furniture, home, lifestyle, or luxury retail environments
  • Passion for design, hospitality, and Guest experience
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑paced retail environment
