Job summary

Sanford Bemidji Medical Center is seeking a Central Processing Technician to ensure all patient care supplies, equipment and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessed in a timely manner throughout the health system.

You will follow SOPs, infection prevention guidelines and report any processing errors to leadership. Proficiency with copy, fax, internet, handheld devices, EMR and instrument tracking systems is required.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required within 24 months of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in central processing or healthcare environment preferred; knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong phone and computer skills; ability to navigate the internet and handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, inspect, store, distribute and reprocess patient care supplies and instruments.
• Follow SOPs and infection prevention guidelines; report processing errors to leadership.
• Maintain records in instrument tracking, inventory systems and EMR.
• Assist in maintaining workflow continuity and timely task completion.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring all patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessed in a quality and timely manner throughout the health system. Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and infection prevention and control guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors, notify leadership and follow-up according to procedure or instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Responsible for use of technologies such as copy and fax machine, internet, handheld devices, electronic medical records, instrument tracking systems, inventory management systems, email and Microsoft office.

Qualifications
