Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking an experienced sterile processing technician. Your responsibilities include inventorying, decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, packaging and sterilizing medical instruments and supplies throughout the health system.

You will store, distribute and track items using the facility's inventory systems while following SOPs and Infection Prevention and Control guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 12 months Sterile Processing/Central Distribution experience preferred.
• Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Store, distribute and track items using facility inventory systems.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in quality and timely manner throughout the health system. Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and follow-up according to procedure or management instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills.
• Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.
• If working in Fargo, North Dakota, certification in Central Service Technology (CRCST) is required within 24 months of date of hire in the position.
