This position is fully remote and involves handling a caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases, appearing before the California Workers' Compensation Boards in Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Oxnard.

The role features a collaborative learning environment with remote work and onsite appearances approximately four times a year, in partnership with our Attorney Staff. Responsibilities

• Analyze complex issues, conduct legal research, and develop well-reasoned strategies.
• Create and present defense strategies independently.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, depositions, petitions, and trial briefs with autonomy.
• Collaborate with Claims Partners to achieve optimal outcomes for insureds.
• Provide timely legal advice and communicate effectively with clients, courts, witnesses, and counsel.
• Manage case dispositions efficiently and prepare for hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
• Research, draft, and argue appellate briefs.
• Participate in team meetings and provide training to junior staff.
• Engage in claims file reviews and continuing legal education.

Qualifications

Note: The position can be filled as a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney based on experience.

For Associate Attorney:

• JD from an accredited law school and licensed in California.
• Legal internship or clerkship experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the tripartite relationship is a plus.
• Strong customer service commitment, legal research, and writing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and effective communication skills.

For Staff Attorney:

• Minimum of 2 years handling complex Workers’ Compensation cases.
• JD from an accredited law school and licensed in California.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Experience with LexisNexis and quick software adaptation skills.

Additional Information

This is a remote position with travel requirements of 1-4 days per week within specified California locations. Reliable high-speed internet is necessary. The salary range is $81,840-$172,200, commensurate with experience.
