Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in Portland seeks an Associate Sourcing & Brand Sustainability Manager to drive strategic sourcing for assigned product categories, ensure calendar adherence, protect product quality, and maximize profitability while balancing global supply chains.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of production, sourcing, QA or buying experience in a retail or manufacturing organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Products - Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work onsite in our Portland office Monday-Thursday

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a product sourcing strategy factoring core country competency, supplier capabilities, capacities, growth plans, and risk.
  • Serve as primary contact to all agents and suppliers for assigned categories.
  • Manage sourcing processes to deliver products on time meeting design, quality, sustainability and value goals.
  • Drive vendor rationalization to improve cost, quality and delivery.
  • Monitor pre-production activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet timelines.
  • Create and maintain departmental tracking tools and communicate status to partners.
  • Monitor vendor performance and provide feedback on cost, quality and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot production/delivery issues within assigned categories.
  • Support corporate and brand sustainability initiatives within the role.

Responsibilities
  • Strong project management skills inclusive of developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results to cross-functional partners and WSGO teams.
  • Develop and implement a product sourcing strategy that factors the core competency of a country, supplier capabilities, capacities, and growth plans, and factors any vendor or country risk.
  • Serve as primary contact to all agents and suppliers in managing the assigned categories.
  • Manage sourcing processes and procedures in the assigned categories to successfully execute and deliver WSI products on time, which meet the design, quality, sustainability initiative, and value mission of the brand.
  • Drive strategic vendor rationalization (including re-sourcing activities) to drive cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Monitor all pre-production activities, identifies potential challenges, and develops action plans to address and resolve issues. Works closely with product development, merchandising, inventory, WSGO offices, and quality assurance teams to ensure all pre-production deliverables are completed according to the project timeline.
  • Create and maintain departmental tracking tools and data collection.
  • Communicate project status and Work-In-Process with WSGO offices, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Monitor vendor performance and provide feedback on cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot production/delivery problems in the assigned categories.
  • Drive execution of corporate level sustainability goals within the brand, and support executing brand level initiatives that compliment brand identity and architecture.
  • Some travel may be required
Criteria
