Mercy is seeking an Associate Sonographer to operate ultrasound imaging equipment and software to assist in diagnosis and treatment, while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging standards.

The role requires collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care, adherence to safety procedures, and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of Sonography with required clinical hours.
  • State licensure may be required depending on practice state.
  • ARDMS/ARRT/CCI registry or registry eligible; registry within 6 months of eligibility; BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • No prior experience required.

This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Associate Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Position Details

Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR registered sonographer.

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Experience: None required

Certifications/Registrations: Obtained ARDMS or ARRT or CCI registry OR Registry eligible (Achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.
  • Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
  • Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
