Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship seeks a Sonographer to operate ultrasound imaging equipment and software, ensuring accurate images for diagnosis while upholding patient safety and high imaging quality.

The role requires a graduate from an accredited Sonography program and at least one year of experience, with licensure and ARDMS/ARRT/CCI credentials preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice.
  • ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications; Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Operate imaging equipment and software, predominantly ultrasound, to aid diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain high-quality imaging standards.
  • Collaborate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
  • Follow protocols and emergency procedures for patient safety and radiation protection.

Position Details

Job Description The Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.

Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

In the state of Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role.

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
