Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship seeks a skilled Sonographer to operate ultrasound imaging equipment and software to support diagnosis and treatment. Candidates should have completed an accredited Sonography program and clinical hours, plus ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certifications and BLS.

Ideal applicants demonstrate strong patient care, safety adherence, and collaborative communication in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Experience preferred, with state licensure as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience
  • License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain high-quality imaging standards.

The Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Position Details

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.

Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

Physical Requirements
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
