Job summary

Takt is seeking a driven Junior Frontend Engineer to join our Reston team. You will contribute to building high-impact applications for warehousing and distribution, using Vue.js, Nuxt.js, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript, with Cursor for streamlined development.

You’ll work in an agile startup setting, collaborating with teammates four days a week in the office and growing through structured training and development opportunities. Local candidates are preferred in Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or two years of professional frontend experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying SPAs with Vue.js or Nuxt.js, preferably containerized with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, creating API libraries, and managing user sessions.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, especially Vitest, and writing automated tests for frontend code.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain frontend solutions for warehouse, distribution, and logistics use cases.
• Develop responsive web applications for web, TV, and mobile device access using Vue/Nuxt, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript.
• Build apps with Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript, using Cursor and Linear for development workflow.
• Deploy and maintain scalable frontend software in cloud environments with reliable performance.

Takt is based in Reston, VA and is currently looking for local candidates who can be in the office at least 4 days a week. As a software engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, design, and development of the Takt platform.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions focused on enhancing warehouse, distribution, and logistics performance, utilizing Linear for task tracking and prioritization.
• Develop responsive, end-user-facing web applications for deployment across web, TVs, and mobile devices via web browsers, employing rapid iteration and feedback cycles within the agile process.
• Build applications using Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS, and Typescript, leveraging Cursor as the primary development environment for streamlined coding and collaboration.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain high-quality, distributed, and scalable software to cloud-based environments, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Operate within a dynamic, agile startup environment using Linear to manage tasks and prioritize features, with continuous integration and rapid development utilizing Cursor for real-time code sharing and review.

What You Should Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or two years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on front-end development.
• Hands-on experience deploying single-page applications built with Vue.js or Nuxt.js, preferably containerized with Docker and deployed to Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with RESTful API principles, including creating API libraries, executing HTTP requests, and managing user sessions.
• Practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, particularly using Vitest for unit testing and experience writing automated tests for front-end application code.
