Job summary

Takt, a Reston-based startup, is looking for a driven Junior Frontend Engineer to help build high-impact applications powering warehousing and distribution.

You’ll work with Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS and Typescript, using Cursor for streamlined development, and collaborate in an agile team four days a week to accelerate your growth.

This role offers hands-on training, exposure to modern software architectures, and a path to advance within a fast-paced company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or two years of frontend software experience.
• Experience with Vue.js or Nuxt.js in deploying SPAs.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API libraries.
• Ability to write automated tests for frontend code (Vitest).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions for warehousing and logistics performance.
• Develop responsive web apps for web, TV, and mobile via browsers within an agile process.
• Build apps with Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS, and Typescript using Cursor for development.

• Work in a dynamic startup using Linear for task management and Cursor for real‑time code sharing.

Takt is based in Reston, VA and is currently looking for local candidates who can be in the office at least 4 days a week. As a software engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, design, and development of the Takt platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions focused on enhancing warehouse, distribution, and logistics performance, utilizing Linear for task tracking and prioritization.

• Develop responsive, end‑user‑facing web applications for deployment across web, TVs, and mobile devices via web browsers, employing rapid iteration and feedback cycles within the agile process.

• Build applications using Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS, and Typescript, leveraging Cursor as the primary development environment for streamlined coding and collaboration.

• Deploy, manage, and maintain high‑quality, distributed, and scalable software to cloud‑based environments, ensuring performance and reliability.

• Operate within a dynamic, agile startup environment using Linear to manage tasks and prioritize features, with continuous integration and rapid development utilizing Cursor for real‑time code sharing and review.

What You Should Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or two years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on front‑end development.

• Hands‑on experience deploying single‑page applications built with Vue.js or Nuxt.js, preferably containerized with Docker and deployed to Kubernetes environments.

• Familiarity with RESTful API principles, including creating API libraries, executing HTTP requests, and managing user sessions.

• Practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, particularly using Vitest for unit testing and experience writing automated tests for front‑end application code.
