Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a candidate pursuing a bachelor’s degree or recent graduate to join our embedded software efforts. You will contribute to real-time software for tactical radio systems, collaborate with engineering teams to define interfaces, and participate in the full software lifecycle from design to testing.

You will work across Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS environments, with exposure to multiple languages. This role may require eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field or recently graduated (within 12 months).
• Familiarity with modern programming languages and software development.
• Interest in embedded systems and real-time software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for target applications using CS, engineering and math principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware/software interfaces and performance needs.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle for embedded real-time control of tactical radio equipment.
• Create software test procedures and supporting documentation.
• Use modeling tools to collect data, run experiments, and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews and defect tracking across multiple languages/platforms.

Requirements

• We require applicants to be pursuing a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related discipline, or to have earned a bachelors degree within the past 12 months.
• We value familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: C , C#, C, Java, Ruby, JEE, HTML5, XML, SQL, Qt, Windows, .NET, Unix, Linux, SOA, RTOS, real-time controls, wireless systems, software security, robotics, object-oriented analysis/design, Hadoop, Android, and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• We apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles to develop software for the target application.
• We collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and assess hardware/software interfaces, operational performance needs, and overall system design.
• We contribute to every stage of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.
• We develop software test procedures, software applications, and supporting documentation.
• We use modeling tools and equipment to collect operating data, run experiments, and evaluate results.
• We take part in peer reviews and help identify, track, and resolve defects.
• We work across a range of software languages and platforms, including Windows, Linux, mobile environments, and embedded real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, and Windows CE.
