Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Sydney is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our AI team. You will help build Enrich, our data-enrichment product, and contribute to AI capabilities in the Neo platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Around 1+ years of related experience (internships, placements or projects).
  • Foundational programming ability in Java, Python or React/TypeScript.
  • Curiosity about AI/ML and document-intelligence problems is a plus.

  • Complete regular tasks and tickets promptly and to a high quality, delivering progress frequently.
  • Manually test your code and include meaningful tests before raising a pull request.
  • Communicate ideas clearly (written and verbal) and keep tickets updated with progress.
  • Participate actively in scrum ceremonies - providing and challenging estimates - and in team discussions.
  • Contribute to wiki and documentation.
  • Seek help when needed, act on code-review feedback, and reduce rework over time.
  • Understand and adhere to the SDLC and delivery process.

Role Overview

This is a great opportunity to start your engineering career on a new AI team in Sydney. You'll help build and maintain Enrich - our AI data-enrichment product that finds, identifies and codifies data in unstructured documents - and contribute to new AI and agentic capability in the the company Neo platform. You'll learn across a modern stack (Java, Python, React/TypeScript/MUI) with support from senior and principal engineers, in a supportive, cross-timezone team.

As an Associate Software Engineer you focus on completing well-scoped tasks to a high standard, learning our practices and tools, and building the habits of a strong engineer.

Location

This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days of the week.

  • Around 1+ years of related experience (including internships, placements or strong project work); graduates with the right foundation are welcome.
  • Foundational programming ability, ideally in Java, Python or React/TypeScript.
  • Eagerness to learn, a proactive and positive mindset, and the ability to take constructive feedback and act on it.
  • Curiosity about AI/ML and document-intelligence problems is a plus.
