Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and supporting custom solutions using Back-End technologies. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and experience developing custom solutions in a fast-paced client-facing environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Become a dedicated participant of the Solution Services team.
  • Collaborate with other members on the Solution Services to self-manage feature development to completion.
  • Work directly with clients to provide support and consulting on our reusable and custom solutions.
  • Collaborate with other developers on technical solutions.
  • Identify and communicate possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers.
  • Manage multiple projects using organizational/planning skills.
  • Operate within defined standards and procedures.
What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office.

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • 1-3 years experience (or college equivalent).
  • Experience creating enterprise software using C#/.net core, .net, Asp.net, MVC, Web API, JavaScript, JAVA, SQL Server, and Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to deliver solutions in committed timeframes.
  • Proven technical abilities.
  • Skilled troubleshooting and research abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be part of a high-functioning team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience with Gitlab, IIS, Octopus Deploy, Kubernetes, or containerization is a plus.
