Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Irving, TX seeks an Associate Software Engineer to join Clinical Software Products. You will implement features, fixes, and improvements under guidance, and write well-structured, testable code for a regulated production environment, while collaborating with product and engineering to define requirements.

You will build tests, participate in code reviews, monitor production systems, and learn FDA/SOX change-control practices in a fast-paced healthcare software setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
  • 0–2 years professional software engineering experience.
  • Foundational proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language.
  • Familiarity with SDLC practices, source control, automated testing, and code review.
  • Clear communication and ability to learn unfamiliar systems/technologies.
  • Hands-on use of AI coding assistants (coursework, internships, projects, or professional work).

Responsibilities

  • Instrument/monitor production software; participate in incident reviews and root-cause analysis.
  • Learn SOX and FDA change-control practice by completing required evidence/documentation.
  • Pair with teammates and share findings; participate in technical learning.
  • Work AI-first using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows; use review as the quality gate.

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
