Job summary

VeeAR Projects Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Lead to provide technical leadership for developing and supporting software in a regulated clinical laboratory environment.

You will lead architecture, quality, and delivery while guiding a small engineering team. The role requires hands-on development, strong collaboration with QA, and proactive compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, FDA standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years in technical lead or equivalent.
• Experience in regulated healthcare, diagnostics, lab, or life sciences.
• Experience supporting production apps and resolving complex issues.
• Experience with distributed or offshore development teams.
• Experience with enterprise app and automation system integrations.
• Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software for lab and business ops.

• We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer Lead to provide technical leadership for the development, enhancement, and support of software applications in a regulated clinical laboratory environment. This role will lead the design and delivery of software solutions
• The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise, hands-on development experience, operational awareness, and experience working in regulated healthcare environments. This individual will serve as a technical leader for the team, driving software quality, architectural consistency, and successful project execution while supporting critical laboratory and business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications supporting laboratory and business operations.
• Be a hands-on implementation lead for software projects using the latest technologies for software development and integrations, and also manage a small team of engineers for this.
• Participate actively in software design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation activities.
• Be a champion of software best practices in partnership with QA by conducting risk analysis, identifying test data, and improving CI/CD within Informatics and stakeholder teams aimed at high quality deliverables.
• Promote engineering best practices for software quality, security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Support Agile development processes including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release planning.
• Ensure software solutions comply with applicable regulatory requirements including HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, FDA (as applicable), and internal quality standards.
• Support validation, documentation, audit readiness, and compliance activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years serving as a technical lead, senior engineer, or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience working in a regulated healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, or life sciences environment.
