We now have an excellent opportunity available for an Associate Service Technician based in Lenexa, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, qualification, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing support of company-owned and customer-owned respiratory diagnostic equipment. This role combines technical service and quality control responsibilities to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Associate Service Technician provides primarily in-house support, with the ability to perform field service and customer site visits as operational needs require, while maintaining accurate documentation, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service and support.

Responsibilities
Technical Support & Service Operations
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and resolving complex issues related to respiratory diagnostic equipment, software, and system integration. Provide on-site service, installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, emergency support, and customer training as needed.
  • Collaborate with service management to improve workflows, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance overall service efficiency while delivering exceptional customer support.
Quality Inspection, Testing & Validation
  • Perform equipment inspections, testing, calibration, qualification (EQC), validation, and quality verification activities to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, safety, and performance standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and performance evaluations to verify system functionality, accuracy, reliability, and readiness for deployment or customer use.
Analysis & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify, document, and resolve technical, operational, and quality-related issues.
  • Investigate equipment failures, performance deviations, and customer-reported concerns, implementing corrective and preventive actions to restore functionality and maintain compliance with quality standards.
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and complete service, inspection, testing, validation, and quality records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and user guides.
  • Participate in audits, CAPA activities, and compliance initiatives to support the effectiveness of the quality management system.
Order Fulfilment & Equipment Preparation
  • Support order fulfilment activities by preparing, testing, verifying, documenting, and coordinating equipment prior to shipment.
  • Work closely with logistics, inventory, and operations teams to ensure equipment accuracy, quality, regulatory compliance, and readiness for delivery while meeting project deadlines and customer commitments.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional service interactions, technical expertise, and responsive support.
  • Collaborate with technical support, engineering, sales, quality, logistics, inventory, and other cross-functional teams to address customer needs, communicate service issues, improve product performance, and provide operational feedback.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve service operations, testing procedures, quality systems, and fulfilment workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and strengthen the overall customer experience.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist with special projects and other technical or operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) are a plus.
  • 0-2 years of experience in medical device space
  • Troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and repair of electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, service software, and calibration procedures.
  • Experience with respiratory diagnostic equipment and circuit board soldering is a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality control, testing, inspection, and quality management systems (QMS).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, FDA QSR, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive customer relationships and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
Working Conditions
  • Field and Office Environment: Based onsite out of our Lenexa, KS office, this role will require both fieldwork at healthcare facilities and office-based tasks; travel is expected to provide on-site support based on scheduling and availabilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs and move equipment as necessary, and to perform technical installations and repairs in various healthcare settings as needed.
