About the Role

Based in Lenexa, Kansas, we are recruiting for a Warehouse & Safety Lead to take ownership of our warehouse, safety, facility and operational processes.

This is a hands‑on and varied role where you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant and efficient working environment, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance and operational effectiveness.

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Develop, implement and enforce health and safety policies in compliance with OSHA, FDA, ISO 9001 and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness drills at scheduled intervals.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all onsite injuries and incidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and communication to the appropriate parties.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources by providing all necessary documentation, incident details and reporting to support Workers’ Compensation claims and case management.
  • Provide safety training programmes to employees and contractors to promote a strong culture of safety.
  • Ensure facility operations align with industry and regulatory standards, including FDA, ISO and OSHA.
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or customers, providing required documentation and addressing findings promptly.
  • Source, negotiate and manage contracts with service providers for maintenance, repairs and cleaning services.
Facility Maintenance
  • Oversee the maintenance of facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and production equipment, to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
  • Schedule and supervise preventative maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and increase equipment reliability.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Analyse operational metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements across ordering, shipping and inventory workflows.
  • Develop and implement SOP’s to support efficient order management, shipping and inventory handling.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including order/shipment data entry accuracy, inventory counts and management, and process rates.
Warehouse, Inventory & Shipping
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Adhere to FIFO inventory management practices and monitor stock levels to support operational and customer requirements.
  • Utilise and maintain shipping systems, including UPS, FedEx, Starship and LTL freight platforms.
  • Monitor shipment status, investigate delays or damage, and resolve carrier-related issues as needed.
  • Support the implementation and integration of new shipping, warehouse and logistics technologies.
  • Train new employees on safety requirements and material handling equipment.
  • Prepare and communicate operational metrics and performance data to the Global Supply Chain Director.
  • Ensure compliance with RMA, resupply, depot, hazardous goods and other shipping and receiving procedures and work instructions.
  • Cover assigned duties for Shipping Associate(s) during leave/PTO or periods of high shipping volume.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably required by Vitalograph management.
Travel

Domestic and international travel is required up to 10%.

Most travel will be domestic, with approximately one to five overnight stays. Some internal meetings or investigator meetings may also require internal travel with overnight stays.

Education & Experience Required

The following competencies are required for personnel undertaking this role. These requirements should be compared against CVs and Employee Training and Development Records to identify knowledge gaps and future training needs.

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in each of the following:

  • Supervisory duties
  • Inventory control
  • Vendor management
  • Building/facility maintenance

In addition, you will need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience writing and updating SOPs.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • The ability to drive a forklift and obtain certification.
Preferred Education & Experience

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Understanding of and/or prior training on OSHA requirements and directives.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485, Medical Devices Directive and GCP, as required.
  • Experience with the importation/exportation of commercial goods.
  • Knowledge or experience within cardiopulmonary or respiratory diagnostics.
Work Environment

This role generally operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

As this is a varied and hands‑on position, the role will also involve regular activity within the warehouse and facility environment.
