Interface Engineering Inc. in New York City is seeking an Associate/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) to lead as a discipline on diverse projects within a hybrid work model.

You will drive HVAC design, client relationships, and project execution while mentoring team members. With a BSME and 7+ years in MEP, you will manage multi-discipline teams, ensure code compliance, and deliver drawings, calculations, and specifications.

Qualifications

• BSME degree required.
• 7+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting.
• Team leadership/management experience.
• Project management experience in the MEP space.
• High-energy client services skills.
• Excellent communication ability.
• Complete understanding of building codes.
• Thorough design system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead local MEP design teams as a discipline lead on multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain a book of local clients (architects/owners). HVAC system selection and design.
• Manage multi-discipline MEP design teams and deliver drawings, analyses, specs, and calcs.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and oversee HVAC staff.
• Provide construction administration and site observations.
• Deliver exemplary service to team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As anAssociate / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Build and lead local MEP design teams.
• Develop and maintain a book of local clients (architects and owners). HVAC system selection, engineering & design.
• Project Management of multi-discipline MEP design consulting teams
• Preparation of HVAC drawings, analysis, specifications, and calculations.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Provide oversight of HVAC support staff.
• Provide construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Provide exemplary service to team members and clients.

What You’ll Bring:

Required

• BSME
• 7+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• ProjectManagement Experience in the MEP space
• High-energy client services skills
• Excellent communication ability
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• LEED Accreditation
• Working IES-VE Knowledge
