Pearson is hiring remote scorers to evaluate Florida teacher candidates for the English 6-12 subject. The role is part-time, with weekday scoring windows from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST, on a bi-weekly basis, starting fall 2026.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher, teaching certification or five years of teaching in the subject area, US work eligibility, and basic computer skills. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour with remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Current teaching certification in the subject area and 5+ years’ recent public school experience in the subject area.
• Alternatively, degree plus college/university position in same subject with 5+ years’ teaching experience.

We have immediate openings for candidates to score the subjects below remotely.

• English 6-12

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and

• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have five (5) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for

OR

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and

• Hold or have held a position at a college, university or a community college in the same subject area that they will be scoring and have at least 5 years of teaching experience in the same subject area you will be scoring,

All scorers must be approved to score by the Florida Department of Education.

Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score provided you are available to work on a weekday from 8:30 AM EST to 4:00 PM EST.

Overall Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Florida teacher candidates

• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in scoring activities

• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring

Working Conditions

Training takes place before scoring begins. There may be a brief orientation meeting before the day of scoring occurs.

Scoring sessions take place during the week Monday through Friday. Scoring sessions will occur on one day, every 2 weeks. The scoring day runs from 8:30 AM to approximately 4:30 PM EST, including training. There are no evening or weekend shifts.

This position will start in fall 2026.
