Job summary

Elanco Technology Center in Indianapolis is seeking an Associate Scientist – Technical Services & Manufacturing Sciences (TS/MS). You will support the optimization and advancement of bacterial and mammalian cell culture manufacturing processes, executing lab-scale models to generate actionable data for optimization.

You will design and analyze experiments, lead small projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot deviations and improve yield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated laboratory experience designing and conducting experiments; ability to interpret biological and process data.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in both team-based and independent settings.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze lab-scale experiments to model large-scale fermentation and cell culture processes.
• Lead and manage small-scale laboratory projects with clear objectives, timelines, and documentation.
• Drive process improvement initiatives by monitoring trends and performing data mining to identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide scientific support for manufacturing, including oversight of mammalian and bacterial culture and guidance on scale-up strategies.
• Communicate technical findings through presentations and reports, contributing to safety and scientific rigor.
