Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca, NY seeks an Associate Scientist, Sample Preparation to support routine preparation for biological analyses. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Proficiency with pipetting techniques.
• Working knowledge of GLP and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices.
• Experience with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.
• Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations for batches and specimens.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine sample preparation techniques to support subsequent biological sample analysis.
• Perform lab techniques such as extractions, tissue preparation, or purification.
• Prepare solutions and reagents while troubleshooting routine experiments.
• Document testing, observations, calculations, and project work per SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify and elevate potential performance errors to senior personnel.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory awareness, and 6S housekeeping.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through clear, accurate communication.
• Support training, onboarding, continuing education, safety, quality, and 6S initiatives.
