Job summary

IDEXX is seeking an Associate Scientist for the Assay Design & Development group to support the design, development, and characterization of new products and reagents, working with a diverse team across biochemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and protein expression and purification.

You will design and execute experiments, test reagents, analyze data, and communicate results to R&D, Operations and Manufacturing, while ensuring quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology or related field with 3–5 years of lab experience.
• Experience working with PCR reagents, oligonucleotides, plasmids, enzymes or molecular diagnostics is required.
• Hands-on ELISA and immunoassay techniques preferred.
• Strong data interpretation and ability to design moderate experiments independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, troubleshoot multi-variable experiments and communicate findings.
• Perform testing, characterization, and validation of reagents and final products.
• Analyze data and provide recommendations based on results.
• Prepare solutions, reagents and maintain electronic lab notebooks and reports.
• Communicate results to R&D, Operations and Manufacturing; support tech transfer activities.
• Ensure work complies with quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Assist in accelerating pipeline with PCR assay design and testing.
