The role spans design, optimization, validation, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to bring assays from concept to launch. Strong bench skills and regulatory awareness are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics or related life sciences field; hands-on bench work.
• Hands-on expertise in assay design including primer/probe design.
• Strong RNA handling and analysis experience.
• Ability to perform bench work from day one.
• Experience taking assays through analytical validation into product.
• Experience in quality systems and design controls.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Ability to present data to mixed audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize isothermal molecular assays for regulated and RUO applications.
• Lead analytical validation and verification studies for product launches and regulatory submissions.
• Troubleshoot assay performance across development, pilot, and manufacturing scale.
• Collaborate with product management, hardware/software engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Author and review protocols, study reports, SOPs, and design history file documentation per quality system.
• Mentor and provide guidance to associate/junior scientists and research associates.
• Stay current with advances in molecular diagnostics and evaluate new methods or reagents.
• Present technical findings to cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.
